Jablonná nad Vltavou, a chateau listed in the Cultural Heritage of the Czech Republic, is a typical example of a minor aristocracy seat or a summer residence.

JABLONNÁ NAD VLTAVOU CHATEAU It was built on the site of an older water stronghold from the 14th century. The research of the building and uncovered paintings proved that the stronghold was transformed into a Baroque
chateau in the 18th century. Jan Josef Kinský and countess Marie Anna Harbuval-Chamaré were amongst the significant owners of the chateau.

The chateau received a Neo-Classicism facelift during renovations in the second half of the 19th century. The cast-iron pillars, wrought railings and sculptures in the adjacent park also date from this last complex reconstruction. The figural sculpture called Harpist, Hunter, Flora, Autumn and Winter are the work of the German sculptor Möldner. A company called ROYAL Interier bought the chateau in 2005; it carried out a complex reconstruction and installed its expositions into the premises. The most emphasis was applied to maintaining the original character of the building and adjacent park with sculptures during the reconstruction.

The building of the chateau is part of a Baroque complex consisting of the chateau, farm houses and an English-style landscaped park, which boasts the tallest western cedar (Thuja plicata) in the Czech Republic.
