The park is situated on a steep slope on the right bank of a meander in the Sázava River opposite the village of Zbořený Kostelec. We can find interesting ecosystems on a fragmented relief with many significant flora and fauna species.
This park can be found on the right, mostly steep slope of the Sázava river where it joins the side valley, approximately 1 km north-east from Český Šternberk in the place of a former lime stone quarry and its surroundings.
One of the biggest water reservoirs on the Bystrý (Konopišťský) potok stream near the village of Tomice can be found to the south of Bystřice u Benešova.
One smaller and one larger pond are located approximately 300 m to the south of the village of Studený.
The educational display trail of “The History and Nature of the Konopiste Château Park” provides basic information on the development and condition of the park as well as the most interesting places within it. The park (340 ha) can be seen from along two trails with twelve information boards, either by foot or on a pushbike, with most areas accessible to the disabled.
