The ruins of the Chřenovice Castle are located on a rocky promontory at the confluence of the Jestřebnice and Sázava rivers above the Posázava railway line. The castle was built between 1289 and 1318. Only a round tower with thick walls, 19 metres high, and remnants of walls from other castle buildings have been preserved. The castle used to be the seat of the knightly family of Chrenovice. The most famous of this family was Milota of Chřenovice, elected to the Hussite provincial government at the 1421 Congress of Čáslav. The castle has been listed as deserted since 1544. Opposite the castle ruins there is a hill called "Dědek" 482 m above sea level. The road to Ledec leads through it. It is one of the first hiking trails, marked in 1898 by the Ledec Tourist Club.
