Ce majestueux manoir en pierre se dresse sur un promontoire rocheux au-dessus de la rivière Sázava depuis près de 780 ans. Entre ses murs se sont succédé 20 générations de la famille Sternberg. Au cours de la visite, les visiteurs découvriront l'histoire des derniers propriétaires et leur mode de vie. Le bastion sud du château, appelé « salle de la faim », qui faisait partie d'un système de fortification élaboré, est également accessible.
Le cloître a été fondé en 1023 par le prince Oldřich et par le anachorète Prokop. L´exposition „Sázava de vieux Slaves„ a lieu ici. La salle avec des peintures murales du 14 ème siècle fait une partie de la visite. Vous pouvez visiter une église baroque, sacrifiée à Saint Prokop, avec un crypte souterrain. Dans le jardin nord du cloître il y a les fondations découvertes de l´église du Saint Croix du 11 ème siècle.
En 1720, František Adam Trauttmansdorff a demandé au célèbre architecte tchèque F. M. Kaňka de construire un château qui correspondrait à sa position de noble de premier plan. Le château est une résidence noble typique de la période du haut baroque et sa décoration a été réalisée par des artistes de premier plan tels que M. B. Braun, V. V. Reiner ou F. A. Scheffler.
Il a été fondé comme une forteresse gothique dans le style des châteaux français à la fin du 13ème siècle, probablement par l'évêque Tobias de Benešov. Konopiště a été transformé en résidence baroque au XVIIIe siècle par la famille Vrtba. Franz Ferdinand d'Este, qui a acheté le château en 1887, a reconstruit Konopiště pour en faire une magnifique résidence impériale.
A l’origine se dressait sur les lieux où était situé le château-fort une forteresse de laquelle nous est rappelé au cours de la 1ère moitié du 14e siècle Herman Chvalovsky de Ledec, mais qui s’écrivait ici de Zruc.
La maison d´art nouveau no. 74 a été construite dans les années 1904 - 5 d´aprés le projet de Marcel Dusil par le caisse de crédit economique de district à Benešov u Prahy. Une exposition, dévouée à l´histoire de la ville et aux alentours, aux monuments d´art de la région et aux artistes, qui vivaient ici, a été rendue accessible au public en 1992. Le sujet d´intérêt est l´etnographie. Vous trouvez là les costumes et le textile populaire, le meuble, les peintures sur le verre et la plastique populaire. Dans le cadre du Musée d´art sont présentées la graphique et l´exposition de la photographie de la Tchécoslovaquie, qui est unique en République Tchéque.
Le bâtiment historique appellé „Mince“ (La pièce de monnaie) dans la partie basse de la place à Jílové fonctionne comme la résidence du musée. La maison en style gothique servait à l´administration jusqu´à 1420.
Entre les communautés Krhanice et Lešany près de Týnec nad Sázavou il y a l´Exposition du Musée militaire technique de l ´Institut militaire historique de Prague. Cette exposition se trouve sur l´espace des casernes d´artillerie ancienne depuis 1996. A présent elle consiste plus de 350 chars de combat historiques, canons, motocycles, automitarillaises originaire de 1890 jusqu´à présent. Les collections sont présentées au public dans sept salles, au dessous de six couverts et sous l´air.
Le musée présente une rare exposition de grès de Tyniec. La tour gothique prismatique abrite une tour de guet, résidence d'été de la grande chauve-souris protégée.
Le constructeur du château-fort de Ricany était très probablement Ondrej de Vsechromy, fondateur de la famille des seigneurs de Ricany
