The map shows the movements of both armies during the Battle of Jankov on 6 March 1645. Red denotes the movements of the Swedish forces, blue denotes the Imperial army movements. Numbers follow the sequence of attacks. The movement used by Marshal Torstensson, moving to the flank of the enemy overnight, was used here for the first time in military history, forcing the enemy to change position during a battle. This manoeuvre entered textbooks of military strategy.
