Posázaví (The Sázava Basin) – a combination of beautiful countryside, rich history and active relaxation – that is how we could specify this unique part of central Bohemia. The region offers abundant opportunities for sports and relaxation, wandering in the countryside and a wide range of historical monuments – the chateau in Vlašim with its beautiful park, the Old Castle and a museum; the chateau in Jemniště, the chateau in Konopiště in vicinity of the town of Benešov offering three different guided tours, a beautiful park and a rosary. Český Šternberk, one of the best-known castles in the region of the Sázava River, offers guided tours throughout the whole year. The countryside is further enhanced by many sacral objects – churches, chapels or columns of the crucifixion – that can be found in almost any village or along the roads. Likewise, the mythical Blaník Mountain and its neighborhoods with their mysterious history of sleeping knights, offers the opportunity to enjoy your time.

Many marked hiking trails and cycling tracks, as well as the borders of the Sázava River itself, invite the visitors to relax actively in this romantic countryside. Various horse farms and ranches give you the opportunity to get acquainted with the countryside from the saddle of a horse.
