In 1720 František Adam Trauttmansdorff commissioned the well-known Czech architect F. M. Kaňka to build a castle that would correspond to his position as a leading nobleman. The castle is a typical noble residence of the High Baroque period and its decoration was done by leading artists such as M. B. Braun, V. V. Reiner or F. A. Scheffler. Since 1868 the castle has been associated with the Sternberg family. The current owner, Jiří Sternberg, has restored the monument and opened it to the public.

The chateau has three apartments - Therese, Franz and Rainer. In addition to the romantic apartment you will receive a small gift on arrival, you can enjoy unlimited coffee and tea in the apartment at all times, and of course fresh fruit on arrival.

Apartment Terezie is situated in a separate house right at the entrance. It consists of a cosy lounge, bedroom, entrance hall and romantic bathroom with toilet. Like the other apartments, it is equipped with historical furnishings. In the second separate cottage is the apartment František, where you will find a lounge, bedroom, entrance hall and bathroom with hand-painted sink and toilet. Oriental lovers will find oriental accessories and fabrics. The romantic Rainer Suite features a bedroom with a four-poster bed, a breakfast lounge and a bathroom with a toilet and corner bath. A historic fireplace warms you in each apartment.

You can also make your stay more enjoyable with a sauna and hot tub in the small jemnista spa.

For visitors, there is the Café Custoza, which sells original homemade desserts, and you can also buy game from the castle's hunting grounds. You can stay here in one of the three apartments. The grounds are also available for wedding ceremonies.

Guests can also visit the castle park, which was founded around 1725 by Franz Adam Trauttmansdorff. The original French garden was then transformed and expanded into a natural landscape park by Heinrich Rottenhan at the end of the 18th century. The present owner had the path system restored, an alpinium, a rosarium, a natural pond, a libosad, a courtyard of honour and the entrance lime avenue repaired, and hundreds of plants and trees planted. A small menagerie with parrots, water birds, goats, llamas and kangaroos was also built in the park.
